YEREVAN. – President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev started discussions on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, and we have to welcome this, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair James Warlick told reporters in Yerevan.

His remark came in response to Aliyev’s statement on some concessions on the party of Baku that imply the status of Nagrono-Karabakh as an autonomous republic.

All elements of the settlement are being discussed, Warlick said, adding that the co-chairs want to see sincere and full discussion not between the presidents only, but between the people of the countries.

The positions may differ, but it is essential that these positions should be presented to the public in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Karabakh, he said.

The Co-Chairs welcome the statement by Azerbaijani leader, not because it is the final word, but as he makes it a topic for discussion, the diplomat added..
