The meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault took place in Paris Thursday.

During the meeting, the interlocutors touched on a number of issues on the agenda of Armenian-French ties, as well as steps taken for the expansion of cooperation in different areas. They both expressed satisfaction with the dynamically developing mutual ties.

The FMs also referred to the active interparliamentary meetings and decentralized lively cooperation.

Apart from this, they discussed the implementation of arrangements reached between the leaders of both countries for expanding their trade and economic ties.

Ahead of the Francophonie summit to be held in November, the foreign ministers referred to issues concerning the cooperation in the framework of the International Organisation of La Francophonie.

The process of the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict was also thoroughly discussed during the talks.

Nalbandian stressed that Azerbaijan has been refusing to implement the presidential-level agreements reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits for months, consistently escalating the situation at the contact line and thereby hindering the creation of relevant conditions for the advancement of the negotiation process.

The interlocutors underscored the importance of the fully-fledged implementation of the Vienna and St. Petersburg arrangements.
