The investigation into the case of the illegal crossing of the Armenian-Turkish border by Pakistani citizens is over. The case has been submitted to court.

According to the indictment, the Pakistani citizen Muddasar Muhammad Unesi together with his two compatriots illegally crossed the border of Pakistan and Iran in June. Here they joined a group of Afghanis and together with them found their way into the territory of Turkey on July 6-7. The Afghans were detained by the Turkish law enforcement authorities, while the Pakistanis crossed the Armenian-Turkish border on July 9.

They were charged under Article 329 (2) (illegal border crossing) of the Armenian Criminal Code. Pakistani citizens face 3-7 years in prison.

The case is pending in the General Jurisdiction Court of Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces.
