YEREVAN. – Sergey Avetisyan, Head of the Armenian Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA), received representatives from Brussels Airlines, the flag carrier and largest airline of Belgium.

At the talk, the Belgian associates confirmed that Brussels Airlines will be conducting irregular flights once a week between Yerevan and Brussels, from December 10, 2016 to March 31, 2017.

In addition, the airline plans to transition to regular flights next year.

At present, a respective market research is carried out, and the future plans are discussed.

The GDCA chief, for his part, welcomed this Belgian airline’s entry into the aviation market of Armenia, and underscored the expansion of the geographical scope of air transport and the diversification of this market.
