French scientist and engineer Louis Pouzin has become the laureate of the Armenian President’s 2016 IT award.

Chairman of the Award’s Executive Council, Hovik Musayelyan, who is also the Director of Synopsys Armenia, told the aforementioned to journalists at a press-conference Friday.

Pouzin will arrive in Armenia on November 5. In the framework of his visit, he will visit a number of educational institutions, where he will meet with future technology and communication professionals. A solemn reception will be held in his honor on behalf of the President.

Louis Pouzin is the inventor of the datagram and one of the earliest packet communications networks, CYCLADES.  The technologies of package data transmissions have become one of the predecessors of the Internet.
