American singer and actress Cher considers herself an Armenian. She realized it after visiting Armenia, she said in an interview with the Voice of America.

She recalled that visited Yerevan when the war broke out. The pop star said that she met with her father when she was eleven years old. “I did not know that I am Armenian before I saw him. When I met my father I saw that we looked like each other. When I came to Armenia I was shocked to see that all looked like me,” she said, adding that it was a real discovery. Cher finally realized that she is a real Armenian, she noted.

Telling about her visit to Armenia, Cher also said that the aircraft delivered humanitarian aid to people.  “It was awesome that I came to Armenia and could help people,” she concluded.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian) has become a part of Hollywood history by leaving prints of her hands and feet outside Los Angeles’ famous Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
