In the context of recent tension between Ankara and Tel Aviv the Jewish lobby of U.S. will support the Armenian Genocide resolution in Congress discussions, said the Israeli scholar Israel Chain speaking at an international conference on genocide, particularly on the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
“Previously the Jewish lobby acted differently and supported Ankara on the issue but the recent events made Tel Aviv realize it is wrong,” the scholar said.
He found difficult to comment on the fate of Genocide resolution in Congress.
H. Res. 252, the Armenian Genocide resolution will be discussed in the U.S. Congress on January 11, 2011.
