On December 15, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with the participants of the 12th session of the CIS Information Council.

RA Premier stressed such meetings  provide an opportunity to be informed of the processes in CIS states, their problems and priorities, RA Governmental Information and PR department informed NEWS.am

Tigran Sargsyan attached significance to the cooperation, which enables to fill in the information gap in CIS states.

The representatives of state news agencies asked the Premier several questions on the integration and investment policy, as well as on tourism, cultural dialogue, etc.

First Deputy Director General of ITAR-TASS News Agency Mikhail Kalmikov presented a symbolic souvenir to Tigran Sargsyan.

The CIS Information Council was set up in 1996 in accordance with the agreement on creation of council of heads of state news agencies which was signed by CIS leaders in 1995.

Representatives of Russian, Kazakh, Moldovan, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Armenian state new agencies attended the meeting.
