Armenian Ombudsman Armen Harutyunyan wants universal, not material presents from Santa Clause.

“I want people to be full of hope in 2011. It is the most important thing, as situation in 1989-1990 was far from being good, but people had trust for the future and held expectations about justice,” the official said in an interview with NEWS.am.

The Ombudsman stressed he will celebrate New Year at home with his family members. Next day, on January 1, he will leave for Jermuk resort city.

Harutyunyan prefers to stay at home on New Year’s Day rather than visiting the relatives.

The Ombudsman stressed he managed to buy a New Year present for his daughter, but failed to buy a gift for his son.

“Santa Clause brings presents. However, one of my children is 20, the other is 14. So they realize it would be better we saw Santa’s presents,” the Ombudsman said.
