Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be resolved through negotiations. West’s interference in the Karabakh issue only aggravates the situation, Chairman of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce Hausheng Faker stated at the meeting with head of Iran Commission of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rajab Safarov, 1news.az reports referring to Fars News agency.

According to him, Karabakh conflict settlement is a precondition to renewal of Julfa-Moscow railway communication.

“Before the victory of Islamic Revolution, 400 trailers were transported a day through this railway. The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan led to the destruction of the railway. Today the restoration of the railway is necessary for cooperation with Russia,” he said.

In his turn, Rajab Safarov noted that the West is concerned Iran’s influence may wield in case the conflict is resolved.

“It is illogical a railway of strategic significance remains closed due to the conflict between the two countries,” he emphasized.

Safarov also expressed readiness of the Russian railway company to contribute to the resumption of railway communication Julfa-Moscow.
