A students’ rally led to clashes with the police in Turkey. Dozens of students tried to break through a meeting with the officials from Council for Higher Education. Only several students were invited at the event, held behind the closed doors.
The demonstrators decided to storm the building, throwing rocks and sticks and tried to break through a police cordon. The law enforcement officers used tear gas, but it did not help to disperse the protestors. The police was forced to use water cannons to disperse the crowd. The trouble-makers were detained, Russia 24 reports.
