It is yet difficult to forecast true aims and results of Georgian President’s visit to Armenia. However, the sides will devote special attention to trade and economic problems, in particular issues related to transit and communication, Shirak Torosyan, Republican Party MP, head of Javakhk Union, told NEWS.am.

Torosyan also stressed importance of drawing Saakashvili’s attention to problems concerning Armenian population of Javakhk. “There will be no real friendship between Armenia and Georgia unless problems of Javakhk Armenians are solved. He noted it is impossible to tackle all problems in a day taking into account the fact that incumbent Georgian authorities do not display political will on the issue. “Yerevan must constantly raise these problems and seek their solution,” Torosyan said.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili will arrive on a two-day official visit to Armenia on January 22. Official agenda of presidents’ meeting is not disclosed yet.
