Armenian companies do not need Georgian brands, as Armenian brands are well known in Russia, Vazgen Safaryan, Chairman of the Union of Native Commodity Producers, told journalists January 21. He pointed out that Armenia can exports its wines to Russia, while Georgian wines have no access to the Russian market.

Georgia accused Armenia that Georgian brands are claimed to be Armenian brands in Russian and European markets. Safaryan said that the claims are nothing but a political show.

Armenian brands need right classification, he said. For example, the Government should order wine-makers to indicate the village where the grapes used was grown.
