Santa Maria catholic church was attacked in the Turkish city of Trabzon. The reason was consecrated cross.

The church was attacked on January 1, 2011 but information has been recently disclosed, Turkish Hurriyet newspaper reported. About 5,000 people gathered at the church demanding removal of consecrated cross from the roof of the building near the church. The unknown threatened they would remove it by themselves if it is not taken down.

The unknown threw a Molotov cocktail in the garden of the church, but the fire did not spread.

Police is examining video from security camera to find the criminals. 

Back in 2006 Andrea Santoro, clergyman of this church, was killed by a Turk.
