Residents of Gori have told about violence of cossacks during the armed conflict between Russia and Georgia in August 2008.
According to a WikiLeaks document, Ossetians took hostages and executed residents of Gori city and its outskirts and robbed houses near Tskhinvali, GZT.ru reports. Moreover, the Cossacks fired at Georgians and raped women and girls in South Ossetia’s villages, Georgian security forces said referring to witnesses.
