A two-headed calf was born in Sotk village, Gegharkunik region of Armenia, lived only 15 days, head of local community Evrik Karahanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a two-headed calf was born in Sotk village in January in the cowhouse of Hakob and Alina Avetyans. The calf was fed artificially 3 times a day. According to local veterinarians, if the calf lives three days, there will not be life threats. They stressed the animal has gender characteristics of both sexes.

The open-cast mining near the village of Sotk has its adverse effect on the village. The first toxicity class dust forms clouds over the village.

According to the experts, research conducted in Soviet times showed Sotk to be a low-level radiation source. Research shows that mutations can arise in several generations.
