According to Armenian sources close to the Socialist Party of France, the party has decided officially to use his parliamentary rostrum on May 4 (MPs can submit bills on this day) to submit the issue of ratification of the law penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide for discussion, adopted by the National Assembly on October 12, 2006, “Nouvelles d`Arménie reports.

The First Secretary of French Socialist Party Martine Aubry asked Jean-Pierre Bel, the President of the Socialist Group in the French Senate, to propose this law. “Today we need to continue the legislative process, begun by the National Assembly in 2006. We want a bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide to be introduced during parliamentary meetings,” she said in a letter.
