Greece stands for a peaceful resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, President of Greece Karolos Papoulias told reporters on Tuesday, following his meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Papoulias stressed they discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh problem as well. “The OSCE Minsk Group framework is more appropriate for the peaceful solution of the problem and we hope for a swift resolution of the conflict,” he noted.
He also noted that Greece attaches great significance to the EU-launched Eastern Partnership program. “In this context, we support the negotiations on the association agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU. I told President Aliyev that Azerbaijan can rely on the support of Greece on this issue,” APA agency quotes Papoulias.
