Cosmopolitan’s use of Kim Kardashian’s image, without her permission, especially during April is wrong, Aram Hamparian, Executive Director of the ANCA, replied in an e-mail letter to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He stressed it’s both disrespectful to her and also to all Armenians.
“As we all know, there are profound moral issues at stake for Armenians and Turks in April, which is when the Armenian Genocide is commemorated around the world.
We join with Kim in her hope that all the controversy over this issue will help the people of Turkey learn about the Armenian Genocide. It’s not taught in schools and even discussing the issue is banned, so we clearly need to get to truth to the Turkish public in other ways,” he said.
Earlier Kim Kardashian’s photo appeared on the cover of Turkish edition of Cosmopolitan. Socialite had an international photo shoot that appeared on different Cosmo covers. Later Kardashian wrote in her blog she was not aware that her photo would appear on the Turkish cover.
