YEREVAN. - During the first meeting of the spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Armenian delegation put it toughly that the existence of PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh is unacceptable, Head of the Armenian delegation to PACE David Harutyunyan told a press conference on Monday.

According to him, the head of the subcommittee Xucla Costa also said that his work is fraught with increasing tension in the negotiation process.

Harutyunyan also commented on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statements concerning the Armenian Genocide and mass killings of Greeks.

“The Turkish premier’s tough statements once again demonstrate Ankara’s non-compromising stand and Turkey-pursued policy,” Harutyunyan added.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a few months ago, long-term efforts of the Azerbaijani delegation to restore the activities of PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh were crowned with success. Yerevan considers the subcommittee’s activities counter-productive, saying that the OSCE Minsk Group is the only format for Karabakh conflict resolution.
