The Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations plans to form a new rescue service similar to the 911 in the United States and 112 in Europe. Minister Armen Yeritsyan told journalists the idea is expected to be put into practice soon.

The minister himself prefers the U.S. version of the rescue service. "The government has approved a relevant decision," Yeritsyan said.

The new service is not supposed to replace other emergency services.
