YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree setting up a commission to promote international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and coordinate the work to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

The commission is to be chaired by President Sargsyan. Among the commission members are Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan, Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II, President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Bako Sahakyan, ministers and leaders of political parties.

The commission is to hold its maiden meeting in Yerevan, May 30, 2011.
