YEREVAN. - The share of information technologies in Armenia’s GDP reached 5% which is equal to mining industry, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said at a conference with Armenian businessmen from Diaspora.

Both spheres have 5,000 employees but the wages in IT field are higher, he said.  

“The main resource for IT is intellect so we have placed emphasis on education,” Tigran Sargsyan added.

He pointed out math school which is one of the best among the CIS states. Prime Minister promised to draw much attention to university education to preserve traditions of math school in Armenia.
