Armenian FM hopes for OSCE’s assistance in reducing frontline incidentsApril 29, 2011 | 13:27

YEREVAN. - Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian condemned regular incident in the contact line between armed forces of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan and extended condolences to the relatives.

A soldier of the NKR Defense Army Vazgen Bahshiyan was killed in the ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani side in the frontline between the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Karabakh at 4:15 a.m. on Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday Minister Nalbadnian said that such provocations do not advance the peace process. He recalled that during Sochi meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian presidents the sides reached an agreement to conduct investigation of incidents in the frontline with assistance of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and special representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

Edward Nalbandian noted that creation of relevant mechanisms will become a key tool to prevent incidents and provocations and will positively affect the process which inspires hope for achieving peaceful resolution.
