YEREVAN. – The Armenian side should give an adequate response to Azerbaijani provocations on the contact line, said head of standing committee on defense Hrayr Karapetyan.
Only adequate response of the Armenian side can repress further provocations of Azerbaijan, MP from ARF Dashnaktsutyun Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on Friday’s incident causing death of two Armenian servicemen.
He stressed that international community should toughen its stance on Azerbaijan up to imposing sanctions. “World community’s attitude has been limited to recommendations so far. However, time shows recommendations have no impact on Baku although are signed by Azerbaijani leadership,” he said.
It was reported on Friday evening that Azerbaijani snipers killed two Armenian soldiers, while one Armenian soldier was injured. Defense Ministry of Nagorno-Karabakh issued a statement regarding the incident.
