YEREVAN. - U.S. support a swift resolution of Karabakh conflict on Azerbaijan’s terms, expert of CIS Institute Mikhail Alexandrov told a press conference on Monday.

The expert pointed out to the fact that former U.S. Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Matthew Bryza was appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan. He also recalled that U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch is famous as a specialist in “orange” revolutions. According to the expert, the two Ambassadors’ statements demonstrate Washington-pursued policy in the region rather transparently. “Yovanovitch’s departure will not bring about changes in Washington’s policy,” he noted.

“The essence of the matter rests in U.S. attempt to create a military-political corridor from the Black Sea to the Caspian region. Georgia is “fit” with U.S.  plans,  now it is necessary to “come to terms” with Azerbaijan. Though Baku is not committed to this, it will not refuse U.S.-offered price, in particular Nagorno-Karabakh,” the expert underlined.  According to him, the current alignment of forces will hardly help to resolve the conflict. It will be possible if the West weakens, NATO collapses and the U.S. gives up its imperial ambitions
