A civil funeral for Abkhaz President Sergei Bagapsh will be held in the cultural centre of Russia’s Armed Forces on Monday morning, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will attend the ceremony to bid his last farewell to the Abkhaz President.

President of Abkhazia Sergei Bagapsh died at 62 on May 29. He passed away in a Moscow hospital from complications following a lung surgery.

Abkhaz Vice-President Alexander Ankvab will be the acting leader.
