YEREVAN.- The recent statement of three presidents on Karabakh is advantageous to Armenia, as war is of no benefit to any of the sides, said military expert David Jamalyan.

Leaders of world powers reminded Azerbaijan they will not stand new war, he told journalists on Tuesday. 

“Azerbaijan commented on the statement twice. They once again repeated the same things:  the Armenian side should withdraw its troops, and Azerbaijan will never recognize the independence of Karabakh,” he said.

Jamalyan stressed there was no precedent in 20 century when a country declares independence and then comes under pressure, giving up its independence.

Presidents of Russia, France and Armenia issued a joint statement on Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of G8 Summit. They noted that only a negotiated settlement can lead to peace, stability, and reconciliation, opening opportunities for regional development and cooperation.
