YEREVAN. – Deputy Chancellor of Caucasus institute Sergey Minasyan is optimistic on the compromise on the legal status of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia in connection to the visit of All Armenian Catholicos Garegin II to Georgia.

Referring to the condition of Armenians in Javakhk and the study of Georgian, the expert told that studying the language is useful but should not be done to the detriment of the Armenian.

“If the Catholicos’ visit helps to find any compromise, it will be a very good message for the future,” Minasyan added. “Javakhk should be a bridge connecting Armenian-Georgian inter-state relations rather than a problem.”
