YEREVAN.- Armenians of Turkey voted for Justice and Development Party and Kurdish candidates from Peace and Democracy Party during the June 12 parliamentary elections, said expert Artak Shakaryan.

Despite anti-Armenian policy pursued by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, rights of Armenians are less violated, the expert explained.

“Taking into account that ruling party’s main opponents are radical nationalists and Kemalist Republican People’s Party, the Armenian community hardly had any choice,” he said.

Parliamentary ejections were held in Turkey on Sunday. Ruling Justice and Development Party polled 49.9% of votes, Republican-People’s Party – 25.9%, while Nationalist Movement – 13%.

Thirty-five MPs from Kurdish Peace and Democracy entered the parliament as well.
