If the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry receives an appeal from Russian Izvestia newspaper regarding blacklisting of a journalist, it  will be considered.

Azerbaijan will act further in accordance with the decision to be taken in this regard, Trend agency quotes Foreign Ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukhov.

“Izvestia is one of the oldest Russian publications, and we would believe that the newspaper will be able to maintain its image of an impartial media publication,” he added.

Chief Editor of the Russian daily Alexander Malyutin intends to address the Azerbaijani authorities to receive explanations regarding their decision to “blacklist” newspaper’s journalist Yuri Snigirev who prepared a report about Nagorno-Karabakh.

Earlier Azerbaijani foreign office banned Snigirev from entering the country “due to illegal visit to Nagorno-Karabakh”.

This May Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also blacklisted deputy chief editor of Ekho Moskvy Sergei Buntman who interview NKR President Bako Sahakyan.
