YEREVAN. - Press secretary of Armenian MOD Davit Karapetyan commented on the information spread in media that the Chief of Armenian General Staff Yuri Khachaturov spoke in favor of handing over the liberated territories of Nagorno-Karabakh.

"It is obvious that this is misinformation. The Chief of General Staff is the top military official of the Armed Forces, whose responsibilities extend only over management of the Army. Negotiations over Nagorno-Karabakh are under authority of political powers, rather than military forces. Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov actively participated in the Karabakh War and definitely realizes the extent of sacrifice we made to form NK security zone," added Karapetyan.
