YEREVAN. - The rate of inflation in Armenia in the first half of 2011 made 3.5 percent, say the findings of the Interstate Statistical Committee of CIS (CISSTAT).

Among the CIS, the leader is Belarus with 36.2 percent inflation. 

Next in the list is Kirghizia with 7.2 percent inflation. Then comes Tajikistan with 7,1 percent, Ukraine with 5.9 percent, Kazakhstan with 5.1 percent, Russia and Moldavia with 5 percent each, Armenia with 3.5 percent, and Azerbaijan with 2.5 percent.

In the first six months of 2011 the inflation rate increased by 9.4 percent in relation to relevant period of 2010. Price growth for foodstuffs in named period amounted to 15.4 percent increase, said the head of Statistics and International Comparisons Division of Armenian National Statistical Service Gurgen Martirosyan. 

The average monthly salary in Armenia in June 2011 amounted to AMD 114.1 thousand, meaning annual growth of 4.9 percent.
