TBILISI. – The German Development Bank will provide 500 thousand Euros for the development of Javakhketi National Park, Georgian Medianews agency informs.

The Nature Conservation Foundation will carry out the development project, which will bring an impetus to export of local products and increase local salaries.    

Director Giorgi Shoneadze of Preserved Area Agency of Georgia informed that a variety of social programs are also implemented in order to improve the socioeconomic condition of Javakhk’s 12 villages.  

At the initiative of the Agency, the 14,200-hectare Javakhketi National Park was created in April.

Javakhk (Georgian name: Javakheti) is an Armenian-populated part of Georgia’s southeastern Samtskhe-Javakheti province.
