YEREVAN. – Yerevan will host HIGH FEST -2011 9th international theater festival on October 1-8. It is supported by the Armenian President and the Ministry of Culture.

Over 30 theatrical groups from 18 states will participate in the festival, among them are UK, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Russia, Georgia, Iran, India and other states. Dance solo Tango de soledad (Tango of loneliness) 3D performance will be shown in Armenia within the frameworks of the festival. It is choreographed by Billy Cowie (UK) and was presented in Edinburgh festival. The Prototype theatre will perform another show, which was also performed in Edinburgh festival. 

Other famous theatres as Credo (Bulgaria), Marjanishvili (Georgia), Mercuri (UK) will participate in the festival. Besides, Armenian theatres will also be included in High Fest-2011.

Festival performances will be included in main, fringe, ARMS FEST student, puppet and junior performance projects. Audience will have an opportunity to see items theater, dramatic, music and dance show performances. International expert professors Noel Witts (UK) and founder of Baltic Circle international festival Jukka Hytti (Finland) will have master classes.

A delegation from Russian Perm region will be among guests. The delegation will include Deputy PM Boris Milgram, Minister of Culture Nikolay Novichkov, and chairman of Whine Night in Perm festival Veronika Vaysman. They will meet the Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan and will discuss expanding perspectives of cooperation.

Festival news will be released by HIGH FEST-2011 agenda. It will air news three times a day on TV. HIGH FEST is the major theatre festival since 2006 among post soviet states, except Moscow.

HIGH FEST aims to present world culture in Armenia and support the development of Armenian art performers. It is a member of such world theatre networks as ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People), IETM (Informal European Theatre Meeting), and IFEA (International Festival & Events Association).
