YEREVAN. - All three Presidents of Armenia – Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan could sit around a drink today, said General-Mayor Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos) to a press conference on Saturday.

According to him, all three presidents of Armenia were in the same party - Armenian National Movement, they had a common platform, which, however, was cracked due to Karabakh conflict.

"If Ter-Petrosyan had not agreed that Karabakh can be a part of Azerbaijan, had he told that Karabakh can be independent, they could now be sitting around a drink together," said Commandos, expressing regret at the fact that Levon Ter-Petrosyan was not present at the 20th anniversary of Karabakh independence.

Reflecting on the political situation in the country, Commandos said that the authorities and the oppositional Armenian National Congress must find a common ground for negotiations.

"With different approaches, the political forces would fight, hold rallies but we cannot afford repetition of tragic events of March 1."

On request to assess the contribution of all three presidents in the development of Armenia, Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan said he does not have the right to evaluate presidents.

"There are symbols of the state and presidents are among those characters. I equally respect all three presidents. I’m not offended by Levon Ter-Petrosyan, though he punished me cruelly and unfairly after the liberation of Shushi," he added.
