STEPANAKERT. – While carrying out duty at a military position of a unit of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Army, conscript Vladimir Asatryan, 19, committed suicide, on Sunday at 10:40 a.m., with the gun fastened to him.  

Details of the incident are being clarified and an investigation is launched, NKR Defense Army Press Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to our sources, Asatryan was from Kharberd village of Armenia’s Ararat Region.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an incident was recorded as a result of non-statutory relations among military servicemen at Yeghnikner military unit of NKR Defense Army. Details of the incident are still uncertain.

Armenian MOD Investigation Department launched a criminal case and an investigation is underway, Department’s Public Relations Senior Officer Meri Sargsyan had told Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

So far there are no arrests in connection with this case.
