ST PETERSBURG. – Armenian and Russian PMs Tigran Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin met on Tuesday in St Petersburg. The sides discussed issues of current economic situation and bilateral trade-economic cooperation.

“I would like to state that Armenian-Russian economic relations develop well. Russian investments grow in Armenian economy amounting to $3 billion. Russia currently works on improving Armenia’s transportation. Russian side undertook management of Armenia’s railway and already invested RUR 5 billion [$160,384,190] in the sphere. The two states have also good relations in energy sphere, particularly in nuclear energy with $1.6 billion investments by Gazprom Company,” Vladimir Putin said, governmental press service informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Sargsyan stated in his turn that there is an activity in economy after world economic crisis of the recent years. Armenia registered 2% growth last year, while about 5% is expected for this year.
