YEREVAN. – Armenia ranks 86th in the UN Human Development index out of 187 states. Its position goes down by 10 points compared to last year.

The report is based on combined indicators of life expectancy, literacy, school enrolment and gross domestic product (GDP) per capita.

Norway retained its top position from last year, ahead of Australia, the Netherlands and the U.S. its GDP is $47,500, average life expectancy is 81 years, and average duration of education is 12.6 years.

According to the index, Armenia’s GDP is $5,188, average life expectancy is 74.2 years, and average duration of education is 10.8 years.

Regarding its neighbor states, Georgia ranks 75th where GDP is $4,780, average life expectancy is 73.7 years, and average duration of education is 12.1 years. Azerbaijan ranks 91st where GDP is $8,666, average life expectancy is 70.7 years, and average duration of education is 11.8 years, Radio Liberty reports.
