YEREVAN.- Officers of military police at Armenian Defense Ministry detained a Lieutenant Colonel of military police on suspicion of taking a bribe.

Talking to the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent, spokesperson for Defense Ministry David Karapetyan confirmed the reports stressing that Lieutenant Colonel was detained for demanding money from soldier’s parents.

According to him, detention is a part of campaign on struggling against corruption launched by the Ministry. The name of the detainee is not disclosed.
