TBILISI. – During the whole period of his reign Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili did more good things for Armenia as compared to Georgia, Georgian professor Bidzina Savaneli told Asaval-Dasavali newspaper.

“I demand to deprive Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili from Georgian citizenship, according to the fifth article of the Constitution and simultaneously ask Armenian President and Catholicos to grant him Armenian citizenship,” the professor stated.

According to Savaneli, Saakashvili granted traffic-transportation corridor to Armenia, assisted in strengthening economic, and consequently, political positions of Armenians in Abkhazia, as well as during his visit to the U.S. he met periodically with the representatives of the local Armenian community. The professor even believes that the President will sooner return the millions, which Armenians invested before the October revolution [in 1917], as if recovering Tbilisi.

"I think that all these are quite reasonable grounds for depriving the President from Georgian citizenship," Savaneli concluded.
