YEREVAN. – Armenia’s 43 thousand teachers will benefit from the social package included in the 2012 State Budget, Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan stated on Thursday.   

This subsidy will be allocated to public and special school teachers and to vocational school instructors.  

University lecturers , however, will not be eligible for this allowance because the universities can provide paid education. But the Minister did not rule out the possibility that the lecturers could likewise be eligible for this social assistance package, in the coming years.   

To note, the aforesaid package will be equally distributed among all public sector employees. And this amount can be used for medical insurance, education, repayment of mortgage loan interests, and domestic tourism.
