STEPANAKERT. – With Saturday’s decree by Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) President Bako Sahakyan, Private Aren Simonyan,  driver of an NKR Defense Army military unit is posthumously awarded the Military Service Medal for his valor while defending NKR’s national border, NKR Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.    

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an Armenian soldier was killed by Azerbaijani snipers, on Saturday morning and in ceasefire violation by the Azerbaijani side. 

Aren Simonyan, 19, was killed on duty in one of NKR Defense Army military units at the southern direction.

Details connected to the incident are being ascertained, and an inquiry is launched.
