YEREVAN. - Candy band from Georgia won Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011, held this evening in Yerevan. Georgian group received the highest number of points, followed by Netherlands, which is second, and Russian and Belarusian singers who shared third and fourth places with equal points.

Armenia’s representative at Junior Eurovision 2011 Dalita with her Welcome to Armenia song was fifth. At the same time, Anna Khanchalyan was one of performers in Georgian Candy band.

The ceremony was held in Karen Demirchyan Concert and Sports complex in Armenia’s capital. Children between the ages of 10 and 15 and representing fourteen countries compete in the contest.

The elements of Armenian culture were presented not only in the design of the stage but during the entire show. Spectators had an opportunity to get familiar with the Armenian music and dances.

Armenia’s Vladimir Arzumanyan with his song Mama was the winner of the last year’s contest.
