The highest inflation rate in CIS countries in 2011 was recorded in Belarus, with 109 percent, the Belarusian and Russian media report. The hyperinflation in this country was caused by the foreign currency crisis.   

The lowest inflation rate in CIS countries was recorded in Georgia, with a mere 2 percent. And as it is known, Armenia’s inflation rate was 4.7 percent, which is much lower than that of Russia (6.5%), Ukraine (8.9%), and Kazakhstan (7.4%).

Neighboring Azerbaijan’s results are not yet made public, but, as of November 2011, this country’s inflation rate was already 13.5 percent.
