Although since 2000 the IT sphere is considered as a priority from an economic point of view it had not been granted a tax exemption. The Armenian Government decided to fill that gap.

According to the proposal of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee optimization of software in the sphere of computer and IT-technologies, innovation in the manufacturing process and innovation activities will be recognized as research activities. That means that the expenditures for those works will be reduced from the gross income.

The question is included in the agenda of the government’s February 2 seating.
