MOSCOW. – Singer Meri Voskanyan charged painter Nikas Safranov with raping her. She made her statement at ‘Let’s talk and show’ talk-show on Russian NTV channel on Wednesday. As a proof, she introduced a book signed by Safranov and several common photos.

The painter in response sued her for RUR 10 million ($331.000) to protect his honor and dignity. She said that she got to know him two years ago and he offered her to paint her portrait. However, he raped her in the hotel, where he had invited the singer for painting.

Meantime, the painter rejects that he ever knows the singer. He believes she is doing a PR on her behalf, LifeNews reports. Voskanyan said that she learnt about the lawsuit from media. However, she cannot afford going to Moscow and participate in the court hearings as she has no money, and she will be unable even to pay if the court approves the charge.

“I am a jobless mother, where should I find money? However, I am not a liar,” she claims.
