What I was looking for all three nations in the Caucasus was to avoid getting trapped into returning to a closer relationship with Russia or being dominated by Iran. Former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton told in an exclusive interview with “Factor of Power” talk show of Armenian News – NEWS.am answering to the question what he meant calling on Armenia to abandon “historical stereotypes” in 2019 during his visit to Yerevan.

“It's tough when you're kind of squeezed between two powers like that. I felt that in the case of Armenia the tilt back toward Russia was very dangerous. I'm afraid we're seeing consequences of a similar nature next door in Georgia. I think the future of all the Caucasus countries really is in looking toward the West and I think there are ways to enhance that. I hope that would be the policy that the people of Armenia and the others would choose” Bolton said.
