STEPANAKERT.- Successful parliamentary elections in Armenia will positively affect the Karabakh peace process, said James Nixey, program manager for Russia and Eurasia at Chatham House.

Speaking at the conference in Stepanakert, Nixey said the previous elections considerably damaged country’s image. In this context, the next elections should be held on high level.

As to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the expert considers that despite double standards, successful democratic development will have positive consequences.

In this case, the West will have no grounds to speak about lack of democracy in the Republic.
