Friends and relatives of detained schoolboy David Minasyan submitted a letter to Armenia’s Ombudsman on April 3.
“David is currently in the intensive care unit. He lost consciousness, and the skin under his nails has darkened. David is a wonderful person. He is a person with a capital ‘P’ and has always been extremely reserved. He has never been involved in conflicts,” said his classmate Maria.
Earlier today, detained schoolboy David Minasyan was transferred from the Armavir penitentiary facility to the Abovyan penitentiary facility. He fell ill there, after which he was taken to the Abovyan Medical Center and later to the Nairi Medical Center.
It should be recalled that on Palm Sunday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived late for a service at St. Anna Church, accompanied by security. Believing it inappropriate for the head of state to wait at the entrance, security personnel began pushing parishioners aside in a rather rough manner to clear the way for him to the altar. Many found this behavior unacceptable, and twin brothers, high school students Mikael and David Minasyan, spoke out. This led to an incident involving physical force, detention, and the subsequent arrest of the twins. Mikael Minasyan was released the day before, while David Minasyan was remanded in custody for two months by court decision.
